I fell in love with travel after my very first flight, at age 11, to Copenhagen – to meet my grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins and to see where my parents and older siblings were from. I remember being a little terrified and a lot excited.
A few years later as a teenager I walked into the local travel agency to book a flight to see my brother in Edmonton and by the time I walked out I had forgotten about my dream to be a phys ed teacher and sent off my application to Humber College for the travel and tourism program. Two years later I graduated with Honors and was well on my way to my travel career.
Over the years I have spent time arranging both vacation and corporate travel, working in large offices and small independent travel agencies. I have met some amazing clients whom I now call friends and they have followed me wherever my career took me. I have been arranging travel for some of these “friends” for over 30 years; I have watched their children grow. I have been in the travel industry long enough that I have booked trips and honeymoons for the friends of my children – that was a strange feeling.
My travels have taken me throughout the Caribbean & Mexico, Europe, Britain, the United States and my favourite Kenya. An African Safari should be experienced by everyone – there is nothing like watching a lion walking in the morning sun across the Masai Mara or spending time at The Ark watching elephants at the salt lick.
I have cruised over a dozen times to the Caribbean, Alaska and the Mediterranean. Cruises are a great way to experience new destinations, great food, entertainment and much more. They are perfect for couples, friends and multi generation family vacations. I also had the pleasure of experiencing river cruising before it became so popular.
In 2010 I made the decision to start working from home so that I could focus on my clients and their travel needs. This is a decision that I have never regretted as it allows me to spend as much time as necessary to research and find the perfect vacation for each client.
