The Canadian Government recently reinstated an avoid non-essential travel advisory. So what exactly does that mean for your future travel plans!?
We have received several questions over the past couple of days regarding this announcement. We understand there are lots of questions & concerns about this, so we just wanted to clarify what that means for any future travel! As of Dec 15th, we were moved BACK to a level 3, which means avoid non-essential travel if possible. It does not mean you can no longer travel. This same advisory has been in place since March 2020. The only exception was a 2-month window between Oct 21 & Dec 15, 2021 when the government briefly lifted this advisory. This is not an outright ban on travel. We want to reassure you that TRAVEL IS STILL POSSIBLE – as it was prior to Oct 21! People have been and will continue to travel under this same advisory!
We know there are a few more steps to take to ensure your vacation is seamless. But that is what we are here for!
We advise that you double check the current travel requirements for your destination and for returning to Canada prior to departure before leaving. We also highly recommend that you have adequate Travel Insurance coverage before heading to the airport. There is coverage available that can be booked through our office that will cover COVID related medical expenses and quarantining in the worst-case scenarios. This is not the same situation we were in back in March 2020. Airlines are not cancelling flights; they will continue to fly as scheduled and you will NOT be left stranded in destination.
If you have travel plans for the holidays, we encourage you not to abandon them! Of course, we completely understand that not everyone is comfortable with travelling at this time. We will do everything we can to help with postponing your vacations to a later date if that is the case. For those still looking to enjoy your vacations as planned or would like to plan something new for the near future – don’t let this deter you.
