Maria Runco

Maria Runco started working with Kemp Travel in 2016. Although new to the leisure travel industry, Maria is not new to arranging travel. For 28 of her 36-year career with General Motors, Maria managed, planned and coordinated travel and calendars for high-level GM Executives. It was a very fast paced and energetic environment with ever changing schedules and travel plans.

During this time, Maria gained great respect for the Travel Agencies that coordinated the details for their Corporate Incentive Travels. “I would look at the proposed travel incentive packages and just immerse myself in the journey that the Agency put together”. Then, she got the travel bug and realized that planning leisure travel was much more enjoyable!!

Maria has cruised on the Celebrity Summit, Royal Caribbean Splendour of the Seas and the MSC Musica. She has had the pleasure of doing a river cruise on the Uniworld SS Catherine in the Burgundy and Provence region travelling from Lyon to Avignon and loved every minute of it!!

Maria has travelled to many islands in the Caribbean – Antigua, Aruba, Bahamas, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Saint Lucia, St. Maarten, Turks & Caicos having travelled to Cuba the most visiting – Varadero, Cayo Coco, Cayo Guillermo, Cayo Santa Maria, Holguin and Havana.

Maria has also travelled to Europe visiting the Amalfi Coast, Rome, Florence, Venice, Barcelona, Athens, Santorini, Dubrovnik and Paris to name a few.

Maria has enjoyed all her travels over the years but the one that stands out the most was her trip to the Amalfi Coast, Italy to celebrate their 35^th wedding anniversary. Not only was it special as it once again brought Maria and her husband back to their birth country, but they also got to share the experience with their good friends who were also celebrating their wedding anniversary. Having previously visited the area on a port stop during a cruise, they wanted to see Amalfi at leisure and set their own itinerary for their bucket-list trip. Their home base for a week was the small town of Praiano and from there they toured the neighbouring towns of Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Atrani and the Island of Capri. Then off to a lovely B&B in Sorrento and a guided tour and olive oil tasting at Frantoio Gargiulo in Sant’Agnello, 3 nights in a Villa in Vico Equense, visiting the Ruins of Pompeii and finishing up the last 2 days in Rome. “The Dolce Vita is definitely an experience everyone should experience just once in their lives.”
